Wheeler Field lies at the corner of Stage Road and Nashville Road in the heart of the much loved West Bolton. For years this corner field has been used by the Bolton Community as a gathering place for a pick up game of baseball, ice skating, dog walking or watching the Bolton Fireworks. In the summer of 2016, Vermont Building Resources, LLC entered into an agreement with the owners of the 23 acre parcel to attempt a subdivision that would accommodate necessary development with the protection of this valuable community resource.
The result of this partnership is a 9 lot subdivision that includes a neighborhood of seven net-zero-energy ready homes situated next to a 10 acre parcel of protected open space including recreation trails and seasonal access to the golf course. The traditionally used “Wheeler Field” is included in the subdivision as one larger 2.58 acre parcel. VBR is actively working with a Bolton community group to explore efforts to retain the Wheeler Field parcel for community recreational use as it has been used for years. You can find more about the community effort here: www.wheelerfield.org.
